Here is Dahud, Mermaid doll from Brittany.

Born enchantress, the Mermaid does not need a net to trap and drown the sailor, she sings and bewitches beyond the waves.

From her curse and her loneliness, she holds this never softened sadness and a glittery tear falls for eternity from her golden grey eye.

Fairy princess, daughter of the king of the legendary city of Ys, she wears a tiara of golden sequins (with mother-of-pearl pieces and multicolored seed beads evoking corals) which makes her the guardian of the sunken city.

An extract from the musical score recalls the inevitability of the seductive power of her singing.

Made from recycled fabrics and laces, sewn and painted by hand, with frayed seams for a worn effect.

Hair made of  yellow, blue, black, silver, white ribbons, threads and wool.

Be careful, her fluffy wool hair, in particular, is not made to be styled because the wool frays and falls apart.

Hand painted face.

Her navy blue and white striped cotton fishtail is sewn with roughly stitched gold sequins and white lace and it ends beautifully with a cascade of black, gray and white laces and ribbons.

Back in ecru white organic cotton.

Dominant tones: blue, yellow, white, beige, black and gold.

Filling = anti-allergy and dust mite wadding.

Approximately 31 cm high or 12,20 Inches (without fringes)

Approximately 14 cm wide or 5,51 Inches

Dahud is a decorative doll exclusively reserved for adults and its various sewn elements are not suitable for children. Be careful, her fluffy wool hair, in particular; are not made to be styled because the wool frays and falls apart.
